FAQs
How long does it take to complete my order?
Turn around time really depends on how many tapes you have, and how backed up we are when you drop off. That said, we typically complete jobs within 5 business days. If you need it faster, just ask! We’ll move you to the front of the line.
I’m not sure what’s on my tapes. Can you check them for me?
There’s been a few times that customers have given us tapes thinking they’re home movies but they’re actually 4 hours of Friends reruns. If you’re not sure what’s on there, just let us know that you only want home movies transferred. If we put the tape in and it looks like it’s not a home movie, we’ll skip it at no charge to you.
My tape appears to be broken. Can you repair it?
This can be really scary, but no worries. If your tape needs to be spliced we can put it back together for you for no additional charge beyond the cost to transfer your tape. A splice usually means you will lose about 10 seconds of footage.
Can I get extra copies of my tape transfers?
Absolutely. These make great gifts for friends and family. Extra DVD’s are $5 per disc, and extra flash drives are $10 each. Note flash drives hold an average of 20 tape transfers, so they are an economical way to distribute the transfers to loved ones.
Can you combine my tapes on one DVD?
To ensure the best possible transfer, we don’t combine tapes onto one DVD. Each tape is transferred to its own DVD. We do give $7.50 discounts on any tapes that are 15 minutes or shorter.
Do I get my tapes back after they’re transferred?
Yes! Anything you bring in to the shop is returned with the new media when you pickup. Plenty of customers ask about throwing away the tapes after they’re transferred. We always suggest that you preview the new media before disposing of any old formats.
